Things that are unbelievable (but sadly totally believable) about this must-read article: That this issue is almost totally unknown and never discussed. I’d never read a thing about it until today. That Republicans, but really any politicians, would put their Tort Reform platform before taking care of Active Duty Soldiers and Veterans rights. Seriously, fixing this would be a political...

Cat in an Empty Apartment, Wisława Szymborska
Die—you can’t do that to a cat. Since what can a cat do in an empty apartment? Climb the walls? Rub up against the furniture? Nothing seems different here but nothing is the same. Nothing’s been moved but there’s more space. And at nighttime no lamps are lit. Footsteps on the staircase, but they’re new ones. The hand that puts fish on the saucer has changed, too. Something doesn’t...

I'm totally with Miranda on this one.
Cynthia Nixon is taking a lot of heat right now for her assertion that for her, sexuality was a choice, and that fact doesn’t make her humanity or family any less valid. Good on her. I agree that the “born this way” line of thinking is in no small part pandering to bigots, as if who I sleep with would be anybody’s business under any circumstances. I respect the experience...

Disney Announces Into the Woods Movie, We... →
If nothing else, this should be super interesting. How does Disney plan on producing a movie musical that drastically contradicts the depictions they’ve chosen for classic fairy tales, let alone the whole notion of Happily Ever After? Hopefully by keeping corporate far away from the process. Looking forward to casting announcements on this one.

In case you needed another reason not to shop Walmart today, they’re putting janitors and teenagers from the electronic section in Produce Manager positions and routinely selling moldy food. You know, in addition to a lot of corporate-level food ugliness. But all it should really take is the word “mold,” right?

Really fascinating article (just pretend you don’t see the evo-psych nonsense at the end). I just finished watching Lost.
It took a year and two bouts of unemployment, but it’s all over. I feel all empty and sad! Which is silly, because it’s only television! Time to let go. Work starts Monday.
