This is horrific. 41% of arts organizations couldn’t balance their budgets in 2008, and that’s before the recession “ended.” There are 2.2 million working artists in the US, and the percentage of all philanthropic giving going to the arts has dropped by almost 20% over the past decade.

Um… this is incredibly moving, and great writing music. Also reminds me of this one time Di and I had a picnic at the Botanical Gardens in Skokie, and passed a little boy who was humming the Jurassic Park theme to himself, over and over.
